What is Positive Discipline Parenting?
- No punishments or rewards
- Teaching your child life skills
- Connection focussed
- Not perfect parenting
Having attended a parenting course some 20 years ago, Freddie & Prue were inspired to become parent educators themselves. They now share a passion for Positive Discipline and want to help spread its core message, that parents can have a loving and respectful relationship with their children, without resorting to punishment or rewards. In addition, Freddie is a psychotherapist and Prue is a preschool Montessori teacher. They have four children.
Often parents will revert to punishments and rewards to instil discipline in the home. Whilst these may work in the short term, in the end your child is not really learning any of the valuable skills they will need to be fully functioning members of society. Skills such as resilience, self-calming, problem solving and ultimately self-discipline. By attending a Positive Discipline course, you will learn how to teach these valuable skills to your child, in an interactive and experiential environment with other parents. 'I am delighted that Freddie and Prue have added Positive Discipline to their repertoire of skills for working with parents, teachers, and couples. Not only are they effective—they are fun! The best way to find solutions (even to very serious challenges) is while having fun'.
